Frequently asked questions.
The free 15-minute consultation helps clarify what you are seeking, reviews practical considerations such as location and payment, and identifies the clinician whose experience and availability fit best. If someone outside Haven would serve you better, Haven will say so and help you get there.
The consultation is a brief, non-therapy conversation about what is bringing you to care, the type of support you are seeking, scheduling and payment considerations, and possible therapist matches. Nothing is diagnosed and no treatment begins; it exists so you can make an informed choice before booking.
No. Insurance participation and private-pay rates vary by clinician, and in-network coverage is narrower than the plan names suggest: four of the seven therapy clinicians are in-network with Aetna and three with Optum plans—which include Oscar, UnitedHealthcare, UMR, and GoldenRule. That count includes Dr. Gabriela Figueras, whose Aetna care is billed through Dr. Bethany Harris’s supervisory arrangement rather than a panel seat of her own. The remaining three work on a private-pay basis only, with a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. Check the fees and insurance page against the clinician you have in mind rather than the practice as a whole, and the administrative team can verify your specific plan before anything is booked.
Dr. Gabriela Figueras is completing her postdoctoral residency at Haven under Dr. Bethany Harris’ supervision, and her sessions are offered at reduced postdoctoral rates. She works within the comprehensive DBT program and sees clients by telehealth across Florida.
Haven offers in-person services in Wesley Chapel, Florida, and telehealth through clinicians who are licensed or authorized in the state where the client is physically located. Which states a given clinician can see you in is listed on their profile, since it depends on their licensure rather than on Haven.
Clinicians at Haven see preteens, adolescents, young adults, and adults, along with couples and families. Individual clinicians differ in the ages they focus on, so the team page lets you filter by age alongside concern, format, and payment.
Comprehensive DBT means all four parts of the treatment as it was researched, not one piece of it: weekly individual sessions, a skills group, phone coaching between sessions, and the clinician’s participation in a consultation team that meets about the work. Many practices offer DBT-informed individual therapy, which borrows the skills without the rest of the structure. The program page explains what each part involves.
No. Haven’s clinicians do not prescribe medication. If medication is worth considering, your clinician can talk that through with you and coordinate with your physician or a psychiatric prescriber, with your written permission.
Yes. Haven offers psychological evaluation for ADHD and executive functioning, learning disorders and dyslexia, giftedness and cognitive ability, documentation for academic accommodations, and diagnostic clarification where several conditions overlap, for ages 8 through 64. Haven is accepting evaluation inquiries now. Testing usually takes place in person at the Wesley Chapel office, and the psychological testing page sets out what an evaluation involves. Comprehensive autism evaluation is not part of this service — where that is what is needed, the administrative team is glad to help find other options: (813) 438-4701.
Therapy sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are billed at $100, and skills group sessions at $50; insurance does not cover late-cancellation fees. The full policy is on the fees and insurance page.
Haven is an outpatient practice and does not provide 24-hour emergency coverage. If you are in immediate danger, call 911; for urgent support at any hour, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Our crisis resources page lists further options. Of note, clients in the comprehensive DBT program do have phone coaching between sessions as part of their treatment.
What you discuss in therapy is protected health information and is not shared without your written permission, with narrow exceptions that the law requires of every clinician — among them a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else, and suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult. Your clinician will go through these with you at the first appointment, and the privacy notice sets them out in full.
Ask the administrative team, or your clinician, in writing. Haven responds to records requests in accordance with applicable state and federal law; the records page explains what to expect and what a request should include.
