Using insurance
Network participation varies by clinician and plan.
Fees & insurance
Practice-wide policies are listed separately from provider-specific rates and insurance participation, so it is easy to see which information applies to you.
Insurance participation varies by clinician, and private-pay rates are published openly. The administrative team can talk through the practical options with you before care begins.
Network participation varies by clinician and plan.
Reduced postdoctoral rates are also available.
Your plan may reimburse a portion of the cost when you use an out-of-network provider. Haven can provide the documentation needed to seek reimbursement; your plan determines eligibility and reimbursement.

Participation is held by each clinician rather than by the practice, so the plans your clinician takes are the ones that apply to your care. Coverage is confirmed before care begins.
Dr. Gabriela Figueras is completing a postdoctoral residency at Haven, and those sessions are billed through Dr. Bethany Harris’s supervisory arrangement at reduced resident rates.
Every clinician at Haven sees out-of-network clients, and every clinician provides a superbill—the itemised receipt your plan needs in order to consider reimbursement. Your plan decides what it reimburses.
Haven is not in-network with Medicare, Medicaid, Cigna, BlueCross BlueShield, and TriCare. A superbill is provided so you can seek out-of-network reimbursement from your plan.
If a clinician is not in your plan’s network, you pay the clinician’s full fee at the time of the session. Your plan may then reimburse you for part of that fee. A few terms make the rest of this easier to read:
Your plan controls reimbursement. Haven does not determine your benefits, the allowed amount, or whether a claim is paid, and cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed.
Hypothetical example — round numbers chosen for clarity
These numbers are invented to show how the pieces fit together. They are not a benefit quote, not a prediction, and not specific to any plan. Only your insurer can tell you your actual deductible, allowed amount, and coinsurance.
Haven can provide a superbill after each session or on a monthly schedule, include the diagnosis and procedure codes your plan requires, answer questions about what appears on the documentation, and confirm in-network participation for clinicians who are paneled with your plan.
Haven cannot guarantee reimbursement, submit out-of-network claims on your behalf, determine your allowed amount, or appeal a plan’s decision for you. Those are decisions your insurer makes.
Because time is reserved specifically for you when an appointment is scheduled, Haven asks for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Otherwise, a $100 fee is charged for missed individual, family, and couples therapy sessions, and a $50 fee for missed skills group sessions. Insurance does not reimburse missed-session fees.
If you are uninsured or not using insurance, federal law gives you the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before non-emergency care, and a dispute process if a final bill exceeds that estimate by $400 or more. Read the full Good Faith Estimate notice.

Insurance makes care affordable for many people and is the right choice for many of Haven’s clients. These are the practical reasons others choose to pay privately—not an argument that one path is better.
You can work with the clinician whose training and approach fit your needs, whether or not they participate in your plan.
Care is not interrupted if a plan changes its network, and session frequency and length are set clinically rather than by a benefit limit.
Insurance reimbursement requires a diagnosis and disclosure to the plan. Private pay involves less information leaving the practice.
Structured programs such as comprehensive DBT are not always covered the way they are actually delivered.
A session fee is not only the time in the room. At Haven it reflects the work that surrounds it.
Every clinician holds a Ph.D. or Psy.D., with training in assessment, case formulation, and differential diagnosis—so unclear or complicated presentations are recognized early.
Treatment is planned around your situation and revised as it changes, rather than following a fixed protocol regardless of response.
Clinicians consult as a team, and comprehensive DBT adds a skills group, between-session coaching, and coordinated structure.
Rates, participation, and policies are published here, and confirmed for your situation before an appointment is scheduled.
